The judges rated the performance of the 16-year-old skater at 89.86 points, which is 4.41 points higher than the official world record set by her in the final of the Grand Prix series in Turin in December 2019.

Since the Russian Championship is not an international tournament and is not held under the auspices of the International Skating Union (ISU), the result of Kostornaya will not be considered a new world record.

Previously, Tatyana Tarasova commented on Kostornaya’s performance in the short program at the Russian Championship in Krasnoyarsk.
