Tomorrow it starts. The Tour de Ski 2019/2020 stands at the door and in Switzerland Lenzerheide the charging is in full swing. Stina Nilsson is perhaps the biggest Swedish jump in the tour and the 26-year-old herself thinks that the new arrangement with more mass starts can suit her well.

- I think it is an exciting tour with many mass starts. Many types of races that I, on a good day, can like, and there are definitely opportunities that I can do well from myself, says Nilsson to SVT Sport.

"May fight for his life"

A major, much-debated change in this year's Tour de Ski is that the classic final stage up for Alpe Cermis is now a mass start instead of a hunting start. Stina Nilsson, unlike many of the teammates in the national team, has nothing negative to say about the new format.

- In recent years it has felt quite settled even before the race started. But in a mass start, it can be a pretty collected field before the slopes and it can be an exciting fight with oneself with what speed one should dare to go up the slopes. You fight for their lives. I think it can be really exciting and a lot of things that can happen on that hill, ”Nilsson tells SVT Sport.

Do you feel like you like the changes?

- I'm not against it, I'm not, says Nilsson and smiles.

Otherwise, Stina Nilsson's season start has been lined with injury problems, something Nilsson thinks has affected the charge for the Tour de Ski.

- It has unfortunately affected my season quite a lot and continues to do so so I just try to do as well I can see where I stand It has not been optimal but now I just have to take on that challenge with as good a mood as possible, says Nilsson to SVT Sport.
