The German success coach has not changed his mind since last Christmas.

Or the year before.

Also in connection with the arrival of this year's "Boxing Day" football, Jürgen Klopp states that it is crazy to force players to carry out matches at such a frenetic pace as they do in the Premier League this year.

- It's really not okay. There is no reason why there should be several teams that have no more than 48 hours between Premier League matches, he tells British media.

For Liverpool, there will be at least three days of rest between today's match on Monday, away to Leicester, and the next round at home against Wolverhampton on Sunday.

"It will be like vacation"

But for other teams, such as Manchester City, there will be less than 48 hours of rest between Friday's game against Wolverhampton and Sunday's against Sheffield United.

- None of the league's managers have any problem playing on the other day, but playing both on December 26 and 28 is criminal. This year we are playing on the 26th and 29th and it will be like a holiday, says the Liverpool coach.

Among the teams forced to play on the second day and then again on Saturday are Brighton, Everton, Watford and Manchester United.

- We can say what we want but no one listens. Sports science gives us nothing to improve this.

Klopp adds annoyed:

- The body needs a specific amount of time to recover. But we completely ignore it.

Ahead of tonight's meeting with League Two Leicester, Liverpool lead the table, with a match less played, by ten points. The match starts at 21.
