World Cup sensation Fallon Sherrock will play next month during the Dutch tournament Kings of Darts against Raymond van Barneveld, the organization confirms to NUsport on Monday.

The 25-year-old British caused a sensation at the World Cup on Saturday by being the first female darter to reach the fourth round. Earlier, she made for a unique event by being the first woman ever to reach the second round at a World Championship of the PDC. After her second victory, she can also return to Alexandra Palace after Christmas.

Van Barneveld, who stranded in the first round of the World Cup, decided after his elimination to participate in Kings of Darts. The tournament starts on January 24 in Den Bosch, followed by games in Enschede (January 26) and Groningen (January 28).

52-year-old Van Barneveld is impressed by Fallon's game at the World Cup. "What a great achievement Fallon delivers in Ally Pally," said Van Barneveld on Monday at De Telegraaf . "Unprecedented. It is fantastic that I can play against her once."

Van Gerwen and Van der Voort also in action

In addition to Van Barneveld, Michael van Gerwen, Vincent van der Voort, Gerwyn Price and Daryl Gurney also play in the tournament.

Kings of Darts is not the first event for which Sherrock was invited to the World Championship after her good performance. The English was invited on Thursday for the US Darts Masters, which is part of the World Series of Darts.

That tournament will be played on June 5 and 6 at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. Las Vegas has been the host in recent years.

Sherrock will face Friday at the World Championship in the fourth round against 22nd-placed Englishman Chris Dobey, who survived two match darts against Ron Meulenkamp in the second round after a 2-0 lead in sets.
