She has worked with physio and national team doctors since November methodically and focused on rehab following the knee injury, where soft parts of a previously operated knee were injured.

The last piece of the puzzle to be ready for the Tour de Ski was positive response after two days of competition.

- It is impressive that she runs so well after adapted training. She still competes against other girls who are in the national team. She seems strong, says national team doctor Magnus Oscarsson to SVT Sport.

"Make sure she drives"

Ebba Andersson won 15 km freestyle in the Scandic Cup in Östersund in superior style. She was one minute and 54 seconds before the second Moa Molander Kristiansen. The day before, she finished in third place in the sprint.

Ebba Andersson made a final reconciliation with the national team doctor before making a comeback in the World Cup.

- We found out she was driving. We wanted to see if she would feel anything after a load in the competition situation, says Magnus Oscarsson to SVT Sport.

She has been skiing for two to three weeks, Magnus Ingesson estimates.

- She has probably felt by the end that she is ready for the start. It has worked well. She came pretty fast on skis. She has run a good workout. In terms of strength, it works in the leg, says trainer Magnus Ingesson.

"Individuals who want to perform"

The tour de ski begins in Lenzerheide on December 28, and ends in Val di Fiemme with the climb up Alpe Cermis on January 5, 2020. A total of seven race days will be cleared. The last tough test is the slalom hill with a climb of 420 meters. From 860 to 1280 meters in height.

- Then you see. There can be a setback to the damage. But now she managed two races in a row here in Östersund. I don't think it should be a problem, says Magnus Ingesson.

Ebba Andersson took eight world cup places in the distance last year. Tour de Ski becomes world cup comeback after the injury.

- Of course, when she goes into something, she wants to perform, they are these individuals. Then we can see where she stands somewhere. She hasn't met the world elite yet, says Ingesson.
