- Tour de Ski is a very tough and tough program with many competitions with few rest days. It is also mainly distance races and I am, as I said, much better in sprint still. Or I would say that I am horse length better in sprinting. Therefore, I did not take a place in the squad and that is understandable, she tells SVT Sport.

Had declined no

Linn Svahn tells SVT that if she had been given the chance in the Tour de Ski she would still have refused.

- Since I think it is more sustainable for me to have a training period at home after the trip I have now done in ten days. I will aim for upcoming competitions with the sprint weekend in Dresden. I don't want to be a poinsettia that peaks before Christmas and which is then shot down. I want to keep a strong form and good level throughout the season. Then I do not want to shoot myself in the foot and stand in the Tour de Ski, says Linn Svahn

How do you view the tour in the future?

- It is an incredibly fun and demanding recipe. I think I have a long career ahead of me and I continue to develop at this pace will be the exciting driving Tour de Ski for years to come. It's something I want to do, but then I want the conditions to make myself fair. I do not have that at the moment and it is very reasonable that I do not go. I am a little all or nothing and really want to do something I have started.

How do you think about the crazy hill at the end of the tour?

- I should on Frösön (Östersund) and the year I run the Tour de Ski I must go up and down before breakfast (laughter). No, but it is a tough challenge and exciting to see how I stand there in the future. For the moment, though, my greatest strength is to go fast in a short period of time and not climb a steep hill with as many heights as possible.
