It was in November that the heavy news came - Ebba Andersson was long-term injured and would be gone all year out, after having injured the knee where she had previously sustained an injury.

At the beginning of December, positive news came. Together with the physio, Andersson was then started with heart rate-enhancing exercise such as cycling and water running.

The first message from the union was that Ebba Andersson was considering starting at national competitions in Östersund this weekend, but has not yet decided.

"Above all, the knee to hold"

After lunch on Friday, however, she seems to have decided, then her name appeared in the start list for the distance race for 15 kilometers freestyle on Sunday.

- She will start this weekend if she is registered now. It is probably best to check off and see how the knees pallet. She has been skiing for a while, but under controlled conditions, says Magnus Ingesson.

- It is fun. Of course we miss her, so it is with most, when they get hurt or sick. It will be fun for her to start competing again. But we will see how it goes, it is above all the knee that should hold.

"Incredibly inspired and craving"

Ebba Andersson's father Per Ola Andersson tells SVT Sport that she will also run the sprint on Saturday.

- She drives both. She will try tomorrow and it will not work, it will not work, he says.

Per Ola Andersson has helped her daughter with training during the rehabilitation period and tells her that she is now very keen to go back.

- She has worked hard. She has followed the World Cup on television and is incredibly inspired and craving. She longs for this, that's the best she knows, he says.

Andersson, however, will not go on the Tour de Ski. When the squad was released yesterday, she was, as expected, not included.
