After four seasons in the American college league, Lara Stalder joined Linköping two years ago. Already during her first season in the SDHL, she won the shooting league with 39 goals scored in 36 games. This year she has already scored 28 goals for Brynäs with almost half of the season left to play. If she continues to keep the same target pace, the target record, of 47 hits in a season, can be erased this spring.

- In America they are more straightforward and want to take the puck quickly to the finish. I think that's where I developed my offensive game.

Shoulder problems forced Stadler into surgery

The career has not only meant success for the offensively skilled Swiss, who plays back in the national team. During Stalder's second year in Linköping, she had major problems last year with a shoulder that jumped out of joint on repeated occasions and forced her to surgery.

- It was tough. Hockey has always been a big part of my life, so when I realized that the season was over, I took my distance from the rink and tried to focus on something else, such as the studies instead.

After two final losses with Linköping, she switched Linköping to Brynäs for the season and is a strong contributing factor to the Gävle team being a top team again.
