At least 46 people were injured yesterday in clashes between police and protesters outside the "Camp Nou" stadium after the Spanish football classics between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The postponed match of the tenth round of the Spanish Football League ended in a 0-0 draw, and the two clubs raised their score to 36 points after the passage of 17 stages of the Spanish League, to continue the competition for the top of the competition, which regained its suspense after the absolute control of the Catalan club during the past seasons.

Riot police in the Catalonia province responded with tear gas and rubber bullets to the protesters, who tried to set fire to the containers.

According to Barcelona's health authorities, at least 46 people were treated for minor injuries.

The region witnessed violent protests that lasted for days in October, and masked youths closed roads in Barcelona, set fire to rubbish bins and threw stones at the security forces. The police responded with tear gas and smoke.

These protests erupted after Spain's Supreme Court sentenced nine Catalan leaders who participated in organizing a referendum on independence in 2017.

Because of these events, the Spanish Football Federation decided to postpone the confrontation of El Clásico, which was scheduled for last October 26, until yesterday.
