Gold, three World Cup gold and one superior victory in the World Cup. That is Tove Alexandersson's face from 2019 but now a new challenge awaits the 27-year-old. Tomorrow, the first World Cup competition in skiing alpinism will take place and then Alexandersson will be at the starting line in Aussois in the French Alps.

Playing with other sports when the orientation is resting is nothing new for Alexandersson. Before, it has been skiing and skiing that has attracted, but this is the first year of skiing.

- Everything is completely new to me so this season I want to learn as much as possible so I can be better for the next season, says Tove to SVT Sport.

"Think it lays an incredibly good foundation"

Ski pininism can be seen as a development of the classic tour ride. The competitors start by getting up the steep slopes and narrow passes with the skis on their backs and then get down from the mountain with the skis on their feet.

The World Cup begins tomorrow and ends in Italy in April, but Tove Alexandersson has not set any goals for the season.

- No, that's not something I'm thinking of. I have developed a lot during the preseason, but then I also notice that I have a lot to learn, says the orientation star to SVT Sport.

Tove Alexandersson has been the orientation's strongest shining star in recent years. Now, Alexandersson comes with sad news for the competitors. The 27-year-old believes that skiing panic can make her an even better orienteer in the future.

- I think this lays an incredibly good foundation physically for the orientation season. With skiing I can train very hard in the winter and at the same time vary the training. I will be more rested in the running muscles for the summer season, concludes Tove Alexandersson.
