Soccer J1 Vegalta Sendai to become new director Kiyama-san on December 19 16:43

Takayuki Kiyama, who led the Montedio Yamagata of J2 until this season, will be appointed as the new manager of the soccer J1 Vegalta Sendai.

Vegarta announced the retirement of Director Watanabe, who had been in command for about six years after finishing 11th in this season's league game, and was proceeding with the selection of the successor. On the 19th, Mr. Takayuki Kiyama, who led J2 Montedio Yamagata until this season, announced that he will assume the role of new director.

Mr. Kiyama is 47 years old from Hyogo Prefecture. After playing in Gamba Osaka and Consadole Sapporo as a player, he became an instructor and directed at J2's Jeff Chiba and Atago FC.

From Ototoshi, he directed at Montedio Yamagata. In this season of the third year, he entered sixth place in the league and proceeded to the J1 entry playoff, but was not promoted.

Mr. Kiyama is the first J1 director, commenting, “I want to develop what the club has accumulated, create a dynamic team, and keep the viewers excited.” Mr. Kiyama plans to hold an appointment on the 21st and state his aspirations.
