Japan National Baseball Team to hold a training camp just before the Olympics in Sendai on December 17 at 19:29

The Japanese national baseball team aiming to win a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics next year has decided to hold a last-minute camp in Sendai for about one week before the first match on July 29.

On the 17th, Japanese representative director Atsunori Inaba and coaches gathered at a hotel in Tokyo to hold a staff meeting to discuss the schedule for next year's Tokyo Olympics.

The Japanese national team will be fighting the first Olympic Games at the prefectural Azuma stadium in Fukushima City on July 29. Sendai will be held for about a week from July 22 when they enter the professional baseball suspension period. Will be held at Rakuten Life Park Miyagi, the home of professional baseball and Rakuten in Japan.

During the training camp, we plan to have two reinforced games with professional baseball teams, and the teams and dates will be adjusted.

SAMURAI JAPAN Reinforcement Headquarters Masatake Yamanaka, General Manager of Reinforcement Headquarters, explained that he chose Sendai because of the close proximity to Fukushima, the venue of the first match, and said, “I want to make adjustments and get into production.”

At the staff meeting, we reviewed the last month's international tournament “Premier 12”, where Japan won the championship, and confirmed that the conditions of the players would be well understood in order to select members for the Tokyo Olympics.
