Trainer Mark van Bommel was more than satisfied with PSV's game against Feyenoord on Sunday, but the coach saw that the Eindhoven players in De Kuip already suffered the fourth league defeat of the season (3-1).
"I think we have played one of our best games of the season, but the result is just very bad," said Van Bommel after the game against FOX Sports . "The poison cup must apparently be completely empty."
PSV stayed in Rotterdam for the tenth time in its last twelve official duels without a win. Feyenoord captain Steven Berghuis scored three goals (including two from a penalty kick), then Gastón Pereiro scored six minutes before the visitors scored.
According to Van Bommel, PSV had earned much more. "We dominated most of the game. The field game was good, the players performed what we had prepared very well."
"Even after the goals we continued to play well and create opportunities," continued the troubled PSV coach. "In the break I said to the boys:" If we score, we will win. " You felt that, but we failed to complete our chances. "

Dumfries: "We can't lose those duels"
Captain Denzel Dumfries also thought that PSV had the best of the game in De Kuip. "In terms of field play, we had the upper hand, but we just have to finish our chances. We also fought to the end, so it's a shame we lose," the right back told FOX Sports.
Dumfries stated that he and the other defenders have failed their team. "We have to be sharper with the goals against. We can't lose those duels, that's just a shame."
The captain himself had a leading role in the 2-0. He pulled Luis Sinisterra on the shirt, and referee Bas Nijhuis put the ball on the spot. Berghuis then scored.
"I take the blame for the first penalty," said Dumfries, who did not understand why Nijhuis put the ball again at 11 meters in the second half. The referee saw hands from Nick Viergever. "That was ridiculous. He has his arm along his body and has no intention of hitting the ball. You don't do that on purpose."
Van Bommel also did not understand the second penalty. "It was ridiculous in my eyes. And everyone I spoke to agreed with me. It was a natural attitude from Viergever, he couldn't hold his arm closer to his body."

Van Bommel will not give up
If league-leader Ajax wins AZ later on Sunday, the Eindhoven players are no less than thirteen points behind. However, the PSV players have not been thinking about the national title for some time, Dumfries showed.
"With the cup match with GVVV and the last competition match against PEC Zwolle, we still have two games to play until the winter break, in which we simply have to give everything. Then we must look carefully in the winter break to see how things can be improved and then continue full throttle."
Van Bommel emphasized once again that he himself will never leave. "Although I have to fight the whole world, I don't give up," he told the NOS . "I am not thinking that I can be fired right now. I have no indication that this will happen."
