The Ethics Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) decided to suspend the president of CSKA Evgeny Giner from any activity related to football for three months, as well as a fine of 1 million rubles. The reason for punishment was harsh criticism from the head of the army club to the head of the judging and inspection department, Alexander Egorov. After the match of the 19th round of the RPL with “Krasnodar” Giner called him “a complete villain” and said that he should “shoot himself”.

The reason for such harsh statements was Giner’s dissatisfaction with the work of the chief arbiter of the meeting, Vasily Kazartsev. The president of CSKA was unsatisfied with a number of his decisions, one of which was the episode with Ari's goal. There is an assumption that the forward of the Russian national team played up with his hand, after which he sent the ball into the net of Igor Akinfeev. Apparently, this overflowed the patience of the leader, who had previously expressed dissatisfaction with the activities of the judiciary.

It is very clear that Giner's words were pronounced on emotions, but this did not affect the verdict of the ethics committee.

“We received a letter from Alexander Alaev (General Secretary of the RFU. - RT ), in which he asks to consider the statement of the member of the Executive Committee of the RFU and the chairman of the financial committee Yevgeny Giner. His interview in the media caused a resonance in the country, the leaders of football clubs and federations called me. His words overwhelmed the norm of relations between the subjects of football, ”said the head of the committee, Semyon Andreev.

According to him, the ban on football activities in relation to Giner concerns not only the club, but also the financial committee, the executive committee bureau and the RFU executive committee itself. Thus, until the expiration of the suspension he will not be able to attend meetings of all the above bodies. In this case, the president of CSKA has the right to appeal the verdict.

It is worth noting that in the event of a repeated violation Giner faces even more serious sanctions. According to Andreev, the term of suspension from football can be increased to one year.

Giner himself attended the meeting, but left it long before the end. At the same time, the president of CSKA refrained from talking to reporters, declining to comment on the verdict.

However, in the sports community, these sanctions caused heated discussion. So, many quite negatively perceived the removal of Giner, noting that he did not deserve such a punishment.

“For the first time I witnessed a similar precedent. I don’t see much crime in Giner's words, I don’t understand why such a punishment followed. I consider this an unnecessary attack on Yevgeny Lennorovich, who has done a lot for our football. He just wants others to work in this direction too, correspond to him, ”Boris Ignatiev, former head coach of the Russian national team, told RT.

According to him, while working in China, he himself was subject to disciplinary sanctions for criticizing the judges, but noted that there was a big difference between these cases.

“There are organizations that evaluate the actions of judges, in Russia we don’t see this. In my opinion, many Russian referees do not match the level of our football, do not keep pace with its development. Therefore, coaches and managers sometimes react too emotionally to their decisions, ”said the specialist.

According to him, the situation around Giner is unlikely to lead to the fact that the judges will monitor the actions of army football players even more closely. At the same time, he expressed the opinion that the words of the head of the red-blue should not go unnoticed by Egorov.

“He and his wards must correctly respond to them. Earlier, Evgeny Lennorovich did not allow himself this, just a cup of patience was overflowed, ”concluded Ignatiev.

Support for Giner was expressed by representatives of the Moscow Spartak camp. Former president of the team Andrei Chervichenko said that he “absolutely agree with the opinion” of the president of CSKA.

“In my opinion, everyone understands that he told the truth. The outrage in our refereeing is evident. Over the past 20 years, there was no such horror under any leader. What the arbitrators do does not go into any gates. In each round, three or four scandals stably occur, even VAR does not save. It seems that sometimes they do not look at the screen, ”said Chervichenko RT.

At the same time, he expressed the opinion that the committee also agreed with the opinion of Giner, which resulted in not the most severe punishment.

“The ethics committee also agrees that Giner’s words have a fair assessment of the current state of affairs, so they limited themselves to minimal and formal punishment. The removal of Yevgeny Lennorovich will take a break in the championship, and a fine of 1 million rubles is a ridiculous figure for the head of the club with a budget of about $ 50 million, ”Chervichenko said.

The former president of Spartak said that Giner's harsh criticism of Yegorov indicates the level of dissatisfaction with his work at the head of the department, and also answered who should replace him in this post.

“I think in our situation the invitation of a foreigner to this position is the most correct. The fact that they will talk and write about it in Europe can be a deterrent for our referees. In the days of Roberto Rosetti, there were no such scandals. Many judges were indignant, tried to push him, but these attempts were doomed to failure. And after his departure, it became worse and worse, ”concluded Chervichenko.

Ural President Grigory Ivanov also sided with Giner, noting that such an emotional reaction on his part is well-founded.

“I do not want to comment on the verdict of the ethics committee, but I fully support Giner, because CSKA is fighting for high places. There were a lot of judicial errors not in favor of the army team. He was boiling, so he said so. Like everyone, he repeatedly spoke about refereeing, ”the Championship quotes Ivanova.

He added that he considers the punishment to be excessively harsh.

“Giner is one of the leaders of our football, it is wrong to remove him from football activities. Yes, he exaggerated, but he invests, has done a lot for the sport. It's a shame that the fate of the match is decided incomprehensibly, and not on the field. It was necessary to limit myself to another punishment, ”Ivanov expressed his opinion.

At the same time, Andrei Sozin, a member of the RFU ethics committee, said that he considered the punishment proportionate to the misconduct.

"Too soft punishment? Where is the logic here? But what, many would like to be shot or not allowed to finance CSKA? We are not bloodthirsty people. It seems to me that this is a completely adequate solution to his emotional words. Therefore, it is not necessary to look for some trick that they gave him a lot, a little, or the punishment is not quite harsh, ”Sozin told Sport24.

In the past, a well-known commentator, and now a blogger, Vasily Utkin expressed the opinion that the measures taken against Giner are more a warning than a real punishment.

“Three months of Giner's real disqualification - before the resumption of the championship, in fact. So this is a tough, but more threat ... Dyukov rules with an iron hand, yes, ”Utkin wrote in his Telegram channel.
