The night before Thursday, police were alerted that the Zalat statue had been vandalized. Someone sawed heavily in the legs and a rope hung around the neck of the statue.

- It is unfortunate that you do not have more respect for another person's work. They should know for themselves what great work is behind this statue, says sculptor Peter Linde in SVT's Morning Studio.

He was shocked when he heard about the damage.

- I am completely shocked at how to behave at such a groundwater level. He has no Hammarby shirt or Malmö shirt on, it's a nice man standing there, says Linde who hopes the statue will be repaired.

- I hope you are not so stupid as to give these people free advertising and attention. They get some hero status, those who do this for all the time you highlight them. I think you should fix the statue in silence.
