The draft Algeria-France friendly match, announced for next year, will have "almost" no chance to take place in 2020 due to lack of available date, said Tuesday the president of the French federation Noël Le Graët, ensuring nevertheless keep the "firm" will to concretize it.

"When I see the calendar, between the qualifying matches, the Euro, the League of Nations, it's very complicated, for them as for us ... (...) There is an important presidential election there ( December 12.) But we have to get there, "the leader told AFP.

"In any case, (it will not) not in the first half," he said earlier in a press conference after the announcement of the extension of contract coach Didier Deschamps until 2022.

"My desire is always to go there, it's extremely difficult, first of all to find dates," he insisted.

"We have the impression that France will never meet Algeria"

Highly symbolic because of the history common to both countries, the only France-Algeria meeting took place in October 2001, in Saint-Denis. The Marseillaise was whistled by a part of the public and the match was interrupted after the invasion of the field while the score was 4-1 for France.

However, Le Graët has reiterated that he dreamed of being able to organize in the near future a duel between the Blues, world champions 2018, and the Fennecs, champions of Africa 2019.

"We have the impression that France will never be able to meet Algeria, but I want so much, they are the only two countries that can not meet, while there is an attachment", he stressed, recalling the historical and cultural links between the two countries.

The president of the FFF said he was going to Algeria "late January, early February to chat", while remaining attentive to the "political context there must stabilize" to two days of the presidential December 12 .
