Of course, we are disappointed, but initially it was assumed that the recommendations of the compliance committee would be approved by members of the executive committee without any changes. Especially after the main theses were publicly available two weeks before they were examined directly by the WADA Executive Committee, ”the head of the ROC at a press conference said.
He also expressed the opinion that the recommendations of the WADA committee were published in open admissions in order to influence the executive committee of the organization two weeks before the decision.
“Now we need to formally and very carefully study the text of the recommendations approved by the WADA Executive Committee and finally formulate our legal position. The decision to agree or disagree with the instructions of the WADA Executive Committee, as I said earlier, will be made by the supervisory board of the Russian anti-doping agency, which will convene over the next ten days. Prior to the meeting of the Supervisory Board, representatives of RUSADA, ROC or RCC are not authorized to speak out on the issue of consent or disagreement, ”Pozdnyakov added.
WADA removed Russia from participating in international tournaments for four years for manipulating the database of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory. In addition, during this period, Russia will not be able to host international sports tournaments on its territory.
Earlier, Pozdnyakov said that the ROC should form a list of athletes who will go to the Olympics.
