Frida Karlsson competed in the World Cup premiere in Ruka but was over the weekend's competitions in Lillehammer. According to the ski association due to lighter cold symptoms.

Last week, a planned health check by Frida Karlsson was carried out by the union's doctors. The control showed results which cause Frida Karlsson to be stopped from competing and for some time have to reduce her total load.

- Frida is very determined and ambitious and wants very much with her sport. It has simply become a little too intense and too much. She now has to take a step back to regain balance. Health is always more important than sports performance, says national team doctor Magnus Oscarsson.

What exact requirements are not met and what specific corrections are required Magnus Oscarsson does not want to go into.
- It is a question between Frida himself and the national team medical team and nothing we will provide any detailed information about. Elite skiing places high demands on the balance between the large amounts of training and recovery and most athletes at the elite level at some point during their career more or less cross the border and receive overloads of various kinds, injuries and so on.

Frida Karlsson herself wants to go out with the background as to why she will not compete in the near future.

- Right now, I'm very sad and disappointed. It is easy to stress yourself out but you have to see it long term. I will do everything I can to be back in the competition track at the same time as I want to keep for many years to come, says Frida.

There is now a period of some reduction in the amount of training and, if necessary, guidance awaiting, and follow-up of the health checks that the national team has to ensure the health of the riders. This should be ok before Frida can come back in the competition again. How quickly she is back, the national team doctor cannot answer.
- We can't speculate about that at the moment. Frida needs to get some peace and quiet in order to focus on the right things and not aim to be back to any specific competition, Magnus Oscarsson concludes.
