Jakob Ingebrigtsen historically took the fourth straight JEM title in cross country

2019-12-08T13:46:16.816Z

It may seem a little ridiculous that Jakob Ingebrigtsen who last year won two European Championship gold on the track for seniors should run in the junior class. But that's how he can write history. Today he won the JEM title in cross country in Lisbon and became the first to win four titles in a row.

After winning as a 16-year-old, 17-year-old and 18-year-old, he said goodbye to the junior class with winning as a 19-year-old. He was 38 seconds before the second Ayetullah Aslanhan from Turkey on the 6.2 km long course (four laps) on sucking grass in a park in Lisbon.

Ingebrigtsen va

is not so excited by its historical quadruple.

- That is what I will do in the future that is the most important thing, says Ingebrigtsen to NRK.
