Mr. Yuki Ota, President of Japan Fencing Association, was selected as a candidate for a new athlete member of the IOC = International Olympic Committee.

The IOC selects active players and former players as “athlete committee members” in order to make use of athletes' opinions in the operation of the Olympic Games.

Ota's silver medalist and president of Japan Fencing Association, President Ota, was nominated as an athlete member to be elected at the Tokyo Olympics next year at the IOC board meeting held in Switzerland on the 5th.

Thirty people will be running this time, and four will be selected by voting by athletes from the Tokyo Olympics to be held in the Olympic Village starting next July, and the winner will also serve as an IOC committee member.
