Three matches - three wins.

Sweden has opened the World Cup in Japan in a good way and a strong message came to the home administration today.

After a weak start and a four-ball sub, 1-5, Henrik Signell took time out. But then Sweden came to life and offered at a frantic pace.

Led by Melissa Petrén and Linn Blohm in particular, Sweden showed off a fast-paced handball and set goals. At halftime, the score was 20-13.

Japan approached slightly at the start of the second half, but Sweden was never really threatened but won comfortably by an eight-ball margin, 34-26.

Melissa Petrén, born in 1995 and everyday professional in Denmark, was noted for five goals and six assists in her only tenth A-country match.

- She does not excite herself because this is a championship, but she is very cool. She has proven to be mature for this level and probably has a long future in the national team, Henrik Signell tells TV6.

Now Argentina is waiting for Thursday and then the Russia favorite on Friday.
