The World Cup weekend in Lillehammer consists of distance races, with skiathlon and the first relay of the season. The program allows several clean sprinters, such as Teodor Peterson, to stay home.

The same goes for a number of riders who invest in both sprint and distance. One of them is the reigning sprint cup champion Stina Nilsson, final female in the sprint premiere in Ruka.

- Stina had already planned in advance to opt out of Lillehammer in order to get more training and come prepared for the competitions later on, where among other things the Tour de Ski is approaching, says trainer Magnus Ingesson.

- Jonna has done well on the longer races in both Gällivare and Ruka and wants to continue to get more distance races. However, she goes home after Saturday's skiathlon and is therefore not relevant in the relay team, says Ingesson.

In the men's group two riders who did not join Ruka show up.

- Daniel Richardsson, Hudiksvalls IF and Filip Danielsson, SK Bore, are picked after fine efforts in the premiere in Gällivare.
