Anders Blomquist: "No good start to the season"

There were high hopes for Frida Karlsson ahead of the new season.

But when the mini-tour in Ruka is summed up, only one Swedish managed to get into the top ten: Frida Karlsson in eighth place.

- Last year there were six Swedes among the first ten on the closing mini-tour in Qubec. Now we must remember that the World Cup winner from last year's (Ingvild Flugstad Östberg) ban, she had guaranteed been high up. And it's much thinner than last year, says Anders Blomquist, and continues:

- Three Russian shoes are gone when they are pregnant. There are several Germans who could have threatened that are gone. Nathalie von Siebenthal is gone. It is a holier women's class, yet it is significantly worse result of the girls this World Cup season.

- It will change, it's a long season. But it is not a good start to the season for the Swedish ladies.

Mathias Fredriksson agrees.

- It's not a good start for the girls this World Cup season. The first weekend has not been good, he says, but also explains that we should have patience with Frida Karlsson - who is in fact only doing his first senior season.

- It is a little junior mistake of her not to release Diggins when they go together. She is a bit optimistic and wants too much when she tries to leave Diggins instead of being cool and lying behind.
