The Wada committee wants to hit hard on Russian sports after it emerged that test data was manipulated by the Russian anti-doping authority Rusada, Wada writes in a press release. The proposal could also have an effect on the European Football Championships in the summer where Russia qualified.

This means that no high-ranking Russian politician, such as sports-interested President Vladimir Putin, can attend the Tokyo Summer Olympics until the Summer and Winter Olympics in Beijing 2022. The ban over four years also applies to attend the World Cup.

Russia is also prohibited from organizing global championships during the time period. You must also not seek any championship during that time, for example the Olympic Games 2032. Wada recommends that championships awarded to Russia should be deprived of the country - if it is practically feasible.

The flag of Russia must not be used in any major championship.

Russian activists may participate in global championships as neutral activists and after they can show that they were not included in the Mc Laren report or among the manipulated material. Russia was officially suspended in the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang 2018 but still came with a squad of 168 people.

The proposal will be discussed by Wada's Executive Committee at a meeting on December 9.
