The Supreme Committee for Projects and Legacy of the World Cup to be held in Qatar in 2022 - Monday - announced that ten of the most prominent stars of Arab football joined the list of ambassadors of the World Cup, led by former Egyptian star Mohamed Abu Trika.

"We announce that the Egyptian duo Mohamed Abou Trika and Wael Gomaa will join the list of ambassadors of the World Cup," the official Twitter account said in a statement.

"The list included Kuwaiti Bader Al Mutawa, Iraqi Younis Mahmoud, Omani Ali Al Habsi, Qatari pentagram Mubarak Mustafa, Ibrahim Khalfan, Adel Khamis, Ahmed Khalil and Khalid Salman."

Abu Trika commented on his selection among the ambassadors of the World Cup 2022 tweet through his official account on Twitter.

The organizing committee announced months ago the presence of Spanish pair Xavi Hernandez and Cameroon Samuel Eto'o on the list.

The 2022 World Cup takes place in Qatar, and the World Cup will be held for the first time in winter.
