The upcoming edition of the FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar, to be held from December 11 to 21, will see the participation of three Arab teams for the first time in history, namely Al Sadd, Esperance of Tunisia and Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia.

This came after Hilal clinched the AFC Champions League title on Sunday after beating Urawa Red Dynamo 2-0 in the second leg.

Al-Hilal, Esperance (champion Africa) and Al-Sadd are participating in the World Cup as the champion of the host country for the world wedding.

Egypt's Al-Ahly played in 2006, Tunisia's Etoile Sahel took part in 2007, and Al-Ahli reappeared in 2008.Al Ahli Dubai participated in the World Cup in 2009 and Al-Wahda in 2010.

Esperance and Al Sadd participated in the 2011 edition, and Ahli in 2012. In the next edition, Raja Morocco, Morocco's Tetouan and ES Setif in 2014. The Arabs missed the 2015 and 2016 editions.

The 2017 edition saw the participation of Wydad Morocco and Al Jazira of the UAE, and in 2018 played Al Ain UAE and Esperance.

Al Hilal, Al Sadd, Esperance, Liverpool, Monterrey of Mexico, Flamengo of Brazil and Hengin Sport of New Caledonia completed the list of participants.
