Daniel Ståhl is in Monaco to participate in the World Athletics Awards gala. The Swedish discus throwers have been clear with his views on the deal from the Diamond League format and compared the decision to remove Wimbledon from Roger Federer.

Daniel Ståhl, together with three-step star Christian Taylor, had meetings with the World Athletics Athletes Commission and Ståhl feels that the discussions about the sport's future roles in the athletics world have been fruitful.

"We feel that we have a place at the table to ensure that such decisions are not made without consulting the athletes concerned," Ståhl said in a statement and continues.

- It may not change now, but we try to make sure that there will be good competition opportunities for the discus throwers and three-step jumpers.

"Best way to show what they miss"

Despite the teasing from the regular Diamond League format, Daniel Ståhl will be present when the crow arrives at the Stockholm Stadium in May. Then the 27-year-old wants to take the opportunity to show off to the home crowd.

- I look forward to throwing at home and maybe even breaking the world record. It's the best way to show the Diamond League what they lack when they don't have Ståhl in place, concludes Daniel Ståhl.
