Oskarshamn had four straight losses and was last in the table when Färjestad came to visit. Furthermore, the fact that there were 20 points between the teams - Färjestad in fourth place - before the downturn and that Oskarshamn was hit with 0-12 when the team met in Karlstad almost two months ago indicated that there would be no trend break for the defeated newcomer.

Still, it was Oskarshamn that got to rejoice.

The home team took advantage of the many expulsions - six for Färjestad, four for Oskarshamn - and put 1–0 just over ten minutes into the first period through Markus Modigs. Färjestad scored just over seven minutes into the second, before Oskarshamn's Johannes Salmonsson set the important 2-1 goal in the same period.

"Do not understand"

The 33-year-old forward pushed off the box in powerplay after 11.17, a goal that was only approved after a long video review following a suspiciously high club at home.

- Those (the reviews) are never fun. You feel like you're under, but ... I still think that one is pretty clear. I don't understand why it took so long, Salmonsson told C More during the second period break.

Ferjestads Martin Johansson sighed at the same pause.

- It's not our best match so far. But Oskarshamn is a good team at home, they work hard and skate a lot. I think we should play simpler and not have so many expulsions, Johansson said before the third period.

Extended in empty cage

There, Tyler Kelleher was a rib shot from extending Oskarshamn's lead to 3-1 in powerplay four minutes into the period.

But the 3-1 goal would still come.

Simon Despres put 3-1 in an empty cage with one and a half minutes left of the match, before Färjestad's Michael Lindqvist reduced in vain in the closing seconds.

The victory means that Oskarshamn passed Leksand in the table, though with a match more played.
