A 32 year old record is erased. Mikaela Shiffin dominated - as usual - in Finnish Levi and when Petra Vlhova drove out in the second year Shiffrin could easily drive home the victory with 1.78 down to second Wendy Holdener. The victory means that the American goes up to 41 victories in the slalom world cup, one more than Ingemar Stenmark's previous record of 40.

- You start every season by saying the same thing, Shiffrin is very good. In today's second year, I thought she took another step in her development, says expert Maria Pietäla Holmer in the Winter Studio.

Stenmark's 40 wins in the slalom hill were taken between 1974 and 1987. By contrast, Shiffrins has amassed her 41 wins during only seven years of competing in the World Cup where she took her first victory in 2012.
