When Västerås won with a whole 6-0 against Hammarby last week, a Västerås player had to return to play too soon after an expulsion.

In addition, there were several errors in the match log, with incorrect timings and missing extra time.

"No hopes"

After the match, Hammarby camp was mighty upset, and sent in a protest to the union where they demanded replay - something they did not have any high hopes of getting.

- We have no hopes and expectations at all. But if you do not mark this, then I do not know, Hammarby's coach Stefan Karlsson told SVT Sport.

"Have no support"

Now the Swedish Bandy Association's competition committee has made a decision. And just as expected, there will be no replay.

- We have no support for that in the competition rules. The seventh chapter of the competition regulations, the sixth section, states that “According to section 17 of the rules of the game, the judge's decision in facts relating to the match is final. Errors committed by the match secretary are attributable to facts relating to the match and cannot lead to replay, "the competition committee chairman Christer Persson told SVT Sport.

Several reprimands

However, Hammarby gets partly right in his protest. In the decision, both Västerås and the judges receive clear reprimands from the competition committee.

- The Rule and Referee Committee (RDK) should point out to the Chief Referee that he should be more accurate in his signing of the match record. He has signed the match record without checking that it is correct, says Christer Persson, whose committee also criticizes the match's referee:

- The fourth judge has failed in his commitments to Hammarby. The main referee did not hear anything from Hammarby during the match, who tried to appeal the situation. He has also made short notes about the time of entry. We leave it to RDK to decide what will be reprimanded against the fourth judge.

Change tonight

Also Västerås SK gets a reprimand due to the match secretary's mistake around the extra time and that the player had to go back on the ice too soon.

- They will have an extra person in the match secretariat in tonight's match against Sandviken. After that, the next Tuesday they will come back to us with an account of how they will act in the future so that this will not be repeated again, says Christer Persson.

Stuck in the car queue

In the match last week there was only one person during the first half, compared to two that is usual in the elite series. This may have been the reason for the errors committed.

- The other person they normally have in the secretariat was trapped in a car queue after a traffic accident. But you can understand that things like that can happen, so you can think that you should be prepared for such things, says Christer Persson.
