The teams of Yemen and Iraq football teams arrived in Doha on Wednesday to prepare for the Gulf Cup 24 to be hosted by Qatar from November 26 to December 8 with the participation of eight Gulf teams.

Completed under coach Sami Hassan Nash, in the presence of a group of young players led by professional star Ahmed Sroury after the players folded the page of the joint qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the Asian Cup 2023 in China following the loss from Singapore on Tuesday.

Yemen is participating in the Gulf Championship for the ninth time, and is still looking for the first victory in the history of the tournament.

The Iraqi team arrived today and was received by a representative of the organizing committee of the championship and the Qatari Federation, as well as the Iraqi Ambassador Omar Barzanji and former Iraqi football star Mijbal Fartous.

The "Mesopotamian Lions", who have won three previous titles in 1979 and 1984, are seeking the title
1988 to win the fourth title through the Gulf 24.

He will open his matches against the Asian champions and the hosts in the opening match on the 26th of this month.

The Iraqi team tied with their Bahraini counterpart yesterday and raised the tally to 11 points, which maintained its lead to the third group of Asian qualifiers double.

Striker Muhannad Ali, upon his arrival with the team, stressed the importance of the tournament for them and all participating teams, stressing their full technical and physical readiness to provide outstanding performance during the tournament, pointing out that the aspiration of "Black Mesopotamia" to achieve the title for the fourth time in the history of Iraqi football.

He added that he talked to his teammates about the atmosphere in Qatar and the distinctive stadiums that help them shine and do their best, pointing out that everyone pledged to delight the Iraqi fans during the tournament.
