Thus, Vicente del Bosque has been national soccer coach World Champion in 2010 and EuroCup Champion in 2012.

The canoeist David Cal, medalist in the Olympic Games of Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and London 2012 and has won 10 more medals in World and European championships.

Athlete Ruth Beitia has been a high jump athlete and Olympic medalist at the London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016 Games, and has nine more medals in World and European championships.

Athlete Fermín Cacho has also been an Olympic medalist in the 1992 Barcelona and Atlanta 1996 Games , and has won six more medals in World and European championships.

Finally, skater Javier Fernández has been an Olympic medalist at the Pieonchang Winter Games and has also been twice World Champion and seven times European Champion.

Defense has stressed that these athletes have been the first Spaniards to be named Honorary Reserver of the Ministry of Defense, a recognition created last September with the aim of "publicly recognizing the work of the nominated athletes and rooting the regulatory development for the promotion of sport in the field of the Ministry of Defense. "
