Frida Karlsson's development has involved ski-Sweden. Last year, many followed her last junior season, which was much influenced by the debate when she was given the chance in the A team. When it came, Karlsson responded by taking gold, silver and bronze at the Seefeld World Cup.

A huge breakthrough.

Before the debut season as a senior, national team coach Magnus Ingesson is a little worried that high expectations can create problems for the 20-year-old Sollefteå rider.

- Frida and I talked about this in Val Senales. I emphasized the importance that, before the season, she creates the right level of her expectations. She is young and it is important for her to look forward to results that are realistically good. Otherwise, it is difficult if you are constantly dissatisfied during a long career.

Magnus Ingesson continues:

- Frida understands the logic, but she is so competition-oriented, impatient and a bit sad. She would rather be the best yesterday. It is also a strength.

Good test competition

At the same time, Frida Karlsson sits in a car to Gällivare and radiates security.

- Expectations and pressures may sound negative, but for me it is something that is more positive. I have expectations of my own skiing. I have done the job for the season and created the best conditions

- I have nothing to be afraid of. This season contains many races and I will be at my best in five years, says Karlsson.

After an intense spring, she has had a good summer and autumn. She says that the test race that the skiing team had last week in Bruksvallarna gave several good signals.

- I came into the ride and felt strong. I got what I wanted out of the race.

But she does not want to reveal any results.

- We don't talk about it outside, but I am satisfied with my race and confident with myself.

"Applies to keeping all the way"

Instead, she talks about the keys that must function in connection with the Gällivare premiere weekend.

- Now I get to practice on details that you can only get at a competition. Such as creating the right opening speed, the right technology and then can get out to max. I can open hard in a race, but it has to keep going all the way.

Several times she emphasizes the importance of being able to go fast, calm, technically correct, but not to stress.

- My silver race (ten kilometers) at the World Championships in Seefeld was perfect. I'm proud of that race.

In the Swedish premiere in Gällivare, she will go freely ten miles on Friday and Saturday's milestone. Not Sunday sprint.

- I want to save myself for the competitions at the Ruka World Cup (29 / 11-1 / 12) as well.
