On Monday, the City Council of San Lorenzo de El Escorial issued a statement to condemn the attitude of this group of fans, who had dedicated themselves to "disrespect and insult." The collegiate is the daughter of Mercedes Nuño, Councilor for Sports for Citizens in the neighboring town of Galapagar.
On his Twitter account, Nuño regretted that "nobody" has deigned to condemn the insults except "a woman who has simply seemed exaggerated." He also posted an audio where the expletives are heard before the "complicit silences", so he feels "helplessness, anger and grief".
The San Lorenzo Sports Union, a club founded just a century ago, has also admitted that a group of fans dedicated themselves to "disrespect and insult the collegiate." "We don't want you either in La Herrería or in our town," they warn.
Likewise, the Consistory of San Lorenzo de El Escorial stressed that it considers "intolerable" any "type of violence, including verbal violence, towards a woman who is developing her work, and with whom the session is in solidarity."
