The Argentine coach pays the bad results of his team, which has not won a match since 28 September.

Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino was sacked by Tottenham, the Spurs announced on Tuesday, five months after reaching the Champions League final. "The domestic results at the end of last season and at the beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing," said the London club, currently 14th in the championship of England. The 47-year-old technician arrived on the Spurs bench in 2014.

Tottenham have not won a match (three draws, two losses) Premier League since the reception of Southampton (2-1) on 28 September. "We have a team full of talent, we must find the energy to offer a positive season to our supporters," added President Daniel Levy.

A second place in 2017

Former defender of the PSG (2001-2003), the Argentinean guided the Spurs to a final of the Champions League, lost against Liverpool (2-0) last season, as well as a second place in the league in 2017. But it did not stand up to the disappointing current results and a decayed game while Tottenham points eleven lengths from 4th place, synonymous with Champions League and essential for the club and its new stadium ended in April 2019.

According to the English press, Eddie Howe (Bournemouth), Carlo Ancelotti (Naples), Julian Nagelsmann (RB Leipzig) or Massimiliano Allegri (free) would be favorites to replace Pochettino.
