“We hadn't expected that. With a little good will maybe you can find 100 scattered tickets left for the premiere matches, but then you have to hurry. And so we still have to sell about 1,000 tickets for Sweden's second match and some more for the last match in Gothenburg. Then it is also full there, that is, around 11,500 spectators per match, ”Krister Bergström, CEO of the handball European Championship, said in a press release.

Sweden will play the premiere in Gothenburg on January 10 against Switzerland. Denmark meets Iceland in Malmö on January 11.

The European Championships are played in Sweden, Norway and Austria. If Sweden moves on to the main round of the group play, you can go to Malmö. There is likely to be the World and Olympic champion Denmark, France who won the 2015 World Cup and Norway who won the World Cup silver 2017 and 2019.

Semifinals and finals will be played in Stockholm January 24-26.
