A Djurgården with four straight losses today chose to call Dick Axelsson four days earlier than expected.
The idea was that the 32-year-old would start training with the team only on November 20, but without a single training with the team he entered a chain today with Alexander Holtz and Patrik Berglund away towards Linköping.
But there was no Axelsson effect for the Stockholmers.
Linköping defeated Djurgården by 4-2 after scoring all their goals with one man on the ice - four out of four in powerplay.
It was a really powerful powerplay game that the home team showed, where Jarno Kärki became a two-goal shooter and where Joe Whitney and Jonas Holös played for the other two.
Dick Axelsson then?
He played over 19 minutes and accounted for a goal-scoring pass to Linus Hultström's reducing goal to 3-2 in the third period.
While Djurgården collected the fifth straight zero point, Linköping took his fourth straight victory.
- We have focused a lot on the defensive recent matches and I try to contribute everything I can to win, says Linköping's Broc Litttle to C More.
