In response to requests from the flower industry, the Tokyo Organizing Committee decided to give a bouquet of domestic flowers and announced the design of the bouquet on the 12th.
The bouquet is approximately 30 centimeters high, and the design is based on bright colors, mainly using flowers grown in the three prefectures of Fukushima, Miyagi, and Iwate to support recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake.
In the Olympics, sunflowers from Miyagi Prefecture and roses from Miyagi Prefecture are used mainly for roses from Miyagi Prefecture, and Eustoma from Fukushima Prefecture and gentian from Iwate Prefecture. The mascots are also stuffed toys.
The tournament organizing committee, with the cooperation of the Japan Flower Promotion Council, will make approximately 5,000 items throughout the Tokyo Games.
