Jürgen Klopp is very satisfied with the way Liverpool won against rival Manchester City on Sunday. According to the manager, his team did everything needed for a top match.
"If you want to beat City, you have to make it into an intense match. It became exciting in the last fifteen minutes, but then you saw our quality and what my players are capable of. Before, it was 75 incredible minutes," Klopp said.
"We didn't let the City players get into their game and that is not so easy. Otherwise there would be more teams that would approach it that way."
After thirteen minutes it was 2-0 thanks to goals from Fabinho and Mohamed Salah and just after the break Sadio Mané made it 3-0. Bernardo Silva did something back in the final phase. Liverpool now has eight points ahead of Leicester City and Chelsea and nine over Manchester City.
"We have made three beautiful goals and that is exactly what is needed in such a match. You cannot easily achieve your goals against City, so something extra is required and at the same time we have to defend with hand and tooth. We have that done ", says Klopp.
"Every point counts, because a very tough period is coming. We also have to face City again later this season. We don't look too much at the ranking, but just try to play well and stay fit with all of us "

Guardiola: "We played great"
City manager Josep Guardiola was also happy with his team despite the defeat at Anfield. According to the Spaniard, he could not ask more of his players than what they showed.
"We played great and I don't think many teams playing in this stadium can say that. Liverpool scored on the first goal, but we just did well," said Guardiola.
He is not worried about the great backlog of Liverpool. "There are three clubs now that have a greater chance of winning the championship than we do. It's only November, so anything can happen."
After the international match, Liverpool will visit the mid-season Crystal Palace next Saturday. City is waiting for another top player the same day, as the Guardiola team then plays at home against Chelsea.
