When Andreas Granqvist received questions about the Gold Ball earlier today, he instead strongly criticized the price.
- I don't think we should have any Gold Ball at all. It is better to have team prices instead of individual prices because it is a team sport, he told Sportbladet.
Emil Forsberg, who was named midfielder of the year does not share the same opinion as the national team captain.
- It may well stand for "Spruce". I think it is good with individual awards, it makes people work towards something, to have a goal and to want to be the best, says Emil Forsberg.
- The gold ball symbolizes that you had a good season just like the price for this year's midfielder or back. I think it helps people strive to be better. Then it is always the team before the self but individual prices need not be wrong.
