Djurgården succeeded in distress and hardly secure a new contract in damallsvenskan with its tenth place. At the same time, AIK and, above all, Hammarby were stumbling close to taking the step up from the elite but without being able to take a top two position.

Thus no Stockholm village to wait in damallsvenskan until next season - but it will be in the Swedish cup.

When the group play, which will be decided in the spring of 2020, was drawn on Sunday evening, it was clear that Djurgården and AIK are set against each other in group 3 where the damall Swedish newcomers Umeå and Eskilstuna ended up as well.

Most difficult to predict in advance is likely to be Group 2 where the top teams Linköping, Gothenburg and Vittsjö learn to settle for first place with Växjö as outsider.

In addition to affordable resistance, the teams in the cup usually keep their thumbs every year to avoid long distance trips - and for that reason probably Skånelagen Rosengård, Kristianstad and Limhamn Bunkeflo are not completely dissatisfied with falling together in group 1, which also includes the west coast team Kungsbacka.

Group 4, on the other hand, will be decided on widely different playing venues. Last year's Swedish champion Piteå made up there with Uppsala, who snubbed Hammarby on a damsel's Swedish advance in the last round of the elite, as well as Kif Örebro and Mallbacken.
