Hamdan bin Mohammed: “Classification of Sports Events” translates Mohammed's vision of community happiness

His Highness said: “The classification system gives the organizers of various sporting events the motivation to improve their activities, and translates the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to achieve leadership and launch initiatives that advance work in all areas, and achieve higher "Quality of life and happiness of community members."

His Highness said: “We continue to work in accordance with the approach of excellence and innovation established by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and we are delighted to continue our efforts to bring the sports sector to the highest degree of excellence, as it relates to the health, vitality, happiness and productivity of society.”

He congratulated the organizers of the five-star events, namely: Government Games, Dubai World Cup, Dubai Rugby Sevens, and the DP World Tour, and urged them to continue their excellence and innovation in this area. The fifth edition included the classification of 215 activities between five and three stars, where four received five stars, and received 194 events four stars, and 17 three-star events.

This edition saw the participation of 950 thousand athletes and athletes of amateurs and professionals of different nationalities and ages, in addition to attracting 2.8 million followers from within the country and abroad.

The 405 events were divided into 85 international sporting events, 137 UAE sporting events, 161 community events, 11 sports conferences, six exhibitions and five sports awards.

His Highness added: «The organization of sporting events is an important sector to extend its positive impact on the sports and economic levels, which provides thousands of jobs in various disciplines, and contribute to the promotion of tourism, and opportunities to participate in various sectors of society in sports activities and follow-up of their stars “It gives us an incentive for young people to follow the path of these champions, and our goal is to be the hallmark of all events hosted by Dubai, including sports.”
