Former international players have blamed the Football and Clubs Association for not attracting retired football stars to the beach ball, after the game was canceled at the local level and frozen in clubs. They said that the cessation of their activities locally four years ago threatens the game with "extinction" and negatively affects the team, which occupies a high position in the classification of the International Federation of beach soccer teams.

They asked in an interview with «Emirates Today»: «How to ask retired players to play beach ball without we have any local activity other than the former?». They called on the Olympic Committee and the General Sports Authority to intervene to protect the game.

Ibrahim Ragab said the game is no longer attractive to retired stars, as in the past, with big names, including Bakheet Saad. He continued: «The Federation of Football and Clubs are responsible for this situation, since the transfer of the activity of beach ball from the Dubai Sports Council to the Football Federation, the level of the game has declined». He continued: «Al-Ahli youth has already participated in the World Cup and the Confederations Championship, and achieved more than excellent centers, and such things undoubtedly stimulate all retired stars to continue their activity on the beaches, which contributes to the expansion of the base of practice, and highlight the media and the public on the game».

For his part, Cumber Mohammed, that the absence of local activity played a negative role in the decline of beach ball at all levels, said: «It requires the intervention of the Olympic Committee and the body to correct the course of the game, after suffering a clear disregard of the Federation of Football and Clubs».

"It would have been strong competitors in the world championships if there had been a clear strategy of establishing a strong league, attracting retired stars and expanding the practice."

Qambar denied that the physical side had anything to do with the matter, and explained: «During my long years with the beach ball player and administrative did not notice any interest in the physical aspects of the players who played the game, we were only get 25 dirhams instead of training, and there was no complaint, "Basically it was the love of the game, not the pursuit of money."

Al-Saffar: How will we compete globally?

The former international, Abdullah al-Saffar, considered that convincing retired stars to switch to beach ball needs to provide the ingredients to convince them to do so. He added: «How will we achieve the dream of competition in the world championships, without league and local competitions». He continued: «The appearance of the national team on the international scene is achieved by personal jurisprudence, but what would happen if some of them thought to retire or suffered injuries or circumstances forced them to leave the game?».
