Dutch coach Van Bert Marwijk has announced the selection of 24 players in the new squad to face Vietnam on June 14 in the fourth round of Group G matches in the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup. The list did not include striker Ali Mabkhout because he got two warnings and left outside the accounts of Marvic in the Vietnam match, as well as players Ahmed Berman and Khalil Ibrahim due to injury, while the list saw the return of Al Jazeera player Khalfan Mubarak as well as Al Nasr player Habib Al Fardan and Al-Ahly Yousef Jaber.

The team is due to gather on Friday in Dubai after the end of the seventh round of the Arabian Gulf League in preparation for the departure of the Thai capital Bangkok at dawn next Saturday to set up an outdoor camp for four days before heading to Hanoi to play Vietnam.
