"Clearly you get a little angry when it doesn't look like gold," Rosenberg told C More immediately after the match, waiting for the final signal to sound on the Östgötaporten.

Malmö FF won 5-0 against ÖSK and was for a long time in the driver's seat of the gold battle in the all-Swedish final round. But twelve miles from there, Djurgården players finally celebrated the gold after 2-2 against IFK Norrköping at Östgötaporten.

Started as a five year old

Team captain Markus Rosenberg, who started at the club's football school as a five-year-old, had of course dreamed of a better ending - to celebrate his fourth and final SM gold before nearly 2,500 restrained Malmö supporters.

In 2001, Rosenberg debuted as an 18-year-old in the Allsvenskan at home against AIK. Since then, he has meant a great deal to his parent club - where he has participated in and won three SM golds and played group games in both the Champions League and Europa League.

But MFF got a dream position directly in the gold match - drove over Örebro in the first half while Norrköping scored two goals against Djurgården. After eleven minutes, Rasmus Bengtsson arrived and pushed in 1-0 from close range.

Rarely goal shooter on artificial grass

Just four minutes later, Malmö expanded to 2-0 through Arnor Traustason. And almost at the same time Norrköping had also made 2-0 to Djurgården. After 57 minutes, Malmös Søren Rieks increased the lead to a free kick.

Then Markus Rosenberg took over the performance on the artificial turf - a foundation that Rosenberg had not scored on in the Swedish for three years and three months.

"We could only do our job"

After just over an hour, Rosenberg was attentive, pushing in 4-0 from close range and celebrating the game. Six minutes later, Rosenberg increased to 5-0 - but that time Malmöklacken did not cheer as loud as Djurgården just acknowledged 2-2 against Norrköping.

- We could only do our job. We're doing a fantastic match anyway, Markus Rosenberg told CMore.
