Triathlon and field competition are moved in the Olympics - because of the heat

The heat in Tokyo means that there will be a lot of changes around the Olympics next summer.

In addition to the walking and marathon competitions moving from Tokyo to Sapporo, it was announced today that the triathlon and trap events will have new start times.

The individual triathlon races start at 06.30 instead of 07.30, and the mixed relay starts at 07.30 instead of 08.30.

When it comes to the start time for the field race, it is not yet clear if it will start 07.30 or 08.00.

"We now have a joint agreement with the IOC and the current sports associations to move forward the start times," says Tokyo Olympics chairman Yoshiro Mori according to the Inside the Games site.

However, the decision is not final. The IOC Executive Committee must confirm the changes.
