The last two league meetings between Frölunda and Skellefteå ended with big victories for the Gothenburg citizens, 7-1 and 6-1 respectively.

It started in the same style this time. Before a quarter was played, Frölunda led by 3-0. Then Skellefteå switched goalkeeper. Oskar Östlund was replaced by Mantas Armalis, who thus made a seasonal debut after an operation. Gustaf Lindvall's missing goalkeeper in the fall, Skellefteå, was missing after suffering an injury to Luleå recently.

Good hop

Frölunda continued to create chances in the second period. But the real sharpness was missing, and the jumping Armalis played well in the visitors' goal.

Instead, Skellefteå could reduce in a nice powerplay. Backstroke Filip Berglund shot firmly when he was allowed to stand completely free, while Rhett Rakhshani sat dejected. The goal gave Skellefteå new confidence, and a new reduction was not far away at the end of the period.

- We have had a couple of such situations there, so it was about time it found out, Filip Berglund tells C More about his goal.

He notes that Skellefteå managed to raise his game after the tough start.

- I think we had a pretty good smile, says Filip Berglund.

Important goal, Lasu

The beginning of the third period was marked by the feeling that the next goal would be important. Skellefteå had some chances. But after 8.16, Nicklas Lasu ruled in 4-1 for Frölunda. At 12.48 Jacob Peterson arranged 5-1 after a smart pass from Ryan Lasch.

The victory was Frölunda's sixth straight in SHL. Skellefteå had to record his third loss in a row, after three straight wins before that. Now three home games in a row are waiting for the western bouts, closest to Djurgården.
