After five winless games in a row and almost three weeks since the last victory, the New York Rangers were able to get off the ice again as the winner. The victory figures against Buffalo were written 6–2.

Rangers have gathered several times in recent weeks for internal crisis calls, and they appear to have helped.

- It's always important to go out there and show that it's not just empty talk. We have had a lot of meetings and watched a lot of video, but in the end it is about what you do on the ice, says Henrik Lundqvist in the dressing room after the match.

Panarin turned the puck by Dahlin

Buffalo's Rasmus Dahlin became something of a scapegoat when he pitched in the middle zone in the middle of the first period. Rangers Artemi Panarin turned the puck and completely free with Carter Hutton made the forward no mistake.

1-0 was 3-0 before the end of the period and Buffalo never managed to pick up, despite a large takeover throughout the middle period.

- It is important to know how to win matches in this league. We met the team with the most wins so far and when you meet the best teams it is important to realize that they are not that much better, but they are smart with the puck and utilize their positions, says Lundqvist.

- We can match all teams, we just have to learn how to get better and smarter with the puck and take advantage of the positions.

There were no Swedish goals in the match, but Jesper Fast assisted two of Rangers' goals and Marcus Johansson got points for the preparation of Buffalo's consolation goal to 2-4.
