Nick Kyrgios was embarrassed in Rome's second round in May and threw both his racket and a chair before storming out of the stadium. It cost the Australian dearly and he lost about 570,000 SEK in recorded prize money.

"The emotions prevailed," said Kyrgios then.

The 20-year-old Norwegian did not have much to spare for Kyrgios in the match.

- I think he should be severely punished. There are some other things than this and he should be turned off for at least six months, said Ruud, ranked 60th in the world and the best player in the Nordic region.

There was no six-month suspension but Kyrgios was put on a watch list and continued to behave badly during the summer. After another outbreak during the US Open, Kyrgios was suspended from the ATP tour for four months and fined almost SEK 250,000. In total, Kyrgios has been fined around SEK 2 million over the past six months.

Here Kyrgio's crushes his racks during "toa visit"

The English translation of the tennis portal reached Kyrgios

The Swedish site The Tennis Portal recently met Ruud in Oslo and the Norwegian again spoke in sharp words about Kyrgios and about the match that remained in people's consciousness.

- He was completely crazy when I met him. It is his problem that he is an idiot on the track, Ruud said and the interview was also translated into English.

Those words have reached Kyrgios, who went off on Twitter: “Hi Casper Ruud, next time you speak, I would appreciate if you said it to me face to face. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be as cocky then. Until then, I'd rather watch when paint dries than when you play tennis, you're so boring, ”writes 30-ranked Kyrgios and has a theory for Ruud's comments.

“I understand why you use my name. People don't even know you play tennis ”.

Kyrgios is selected for Australia's Davis Cup squad in Spain next month, the first edition of a new format.
