The Dubai Organizing Committee of the Dubai Holding Vertical `` Sky Run 2019 '', revealed the participation of three centenarians over the age of 70 years, in the competitions that start tomorrow with the participation of 400 contestants and contestants representing 50 countries, will climb 1334 steps in 52 roles.

Brazilian Orifal Martins (77 years), Giovanni Batenza (75 years), and Japanese Hiroko Shenzato (75 years) along with young people as young as 16, such as Iranian Mohammad Kasra, Egyptian Abdulrahman Fahmy, and Syrian Laith Helmi.

The Brazilian Organizing Committee said in a press conference held yesterday at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, that «Brazilian Orifal and Japanese Hiroko are also in Dubai, and their participation in the race was officially approved in a scene that will grab the spotlight».

This year's edition will see an unprecedented number of runners with more than 100 competitors, 18 international runners in the most important international races, and 27 teams, the highest number in Dubai's vertical race.

The 16th edition of the Dubai Holding Charity Race will kick off at the iconic Jumeirah Emirates Towers in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council, the International Vertical Running Federation, the World Vertical Race Tour, Jumeirah Group and Thales Fitness.The proceeds will be allocated to Al Jalila Charity Foundation.

Organizers confirmed that «the contestants will climb 52 floors, equivalent to 1334 degrees ladder, or 265 meters to reach the summit of Jumeirah Emirates Towers».

According to the organizing committee, the Dubai Holding Vertical Race is being held in cooperation with the International Vertical Running Federation, the fifth highest vertical race in the world, and joins a group of prestigious races held in the most prominent cities such as New York, London, Paris, Milan, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Osaka and Hong Kong.

A Brazilian, an Italian and a Japanese are taking part in the race even though they are over 70 years old.
